Addressed as the dream city and the economic capital of India, Mumbai witnesses a lot of tourists and immigrants from rest of the country and world. We fall under the second category and I must say, Mumbai has a heart of gold as we feel home already. Continue reading “Aksa Beach”
“Kolkata is not just a city, it is an emotion.” – said someone.
Kolkata welcomes you, hugs you and makes you fall in love with itself. Kolkatans can brag about its rich heritage and food non-stop, and we are one of them too. With pride. And why not, this city won the title of India’s best street food hub.
If you are a foodie, you are reading the right thing. Welcome!
We are foodies too and love experimenting with cuisines and dishes on out travel expeditions and in daily life. Husband being a die-hard non-vegetarian and me being a vegetarian, you will get a taste of both the varieties here.

No air conditioners, no lavish interiors and no ornamented delicious looking coffee glasses. Welcome to one of the oldest and classic coffee place in the city of joy. This place is nothing like the Cafe Coffee Days, or Baristas or Starbucks, it is just a modest place, which has been able to survive from the pre-independent period till date.

If you have been a regular reader of our blog, you must have realized by now, that we do have an inclination towards mythology and we never miss a chance to cover travel stories of the Gods either. Here comes another one, after all, its Durga Puja!
Big thank you to Brie Flanagan from the blog I Must Brie Crazy for the Blue Sky Tag Blog Challenge.
Banaras, Kashi, Varanasi whatever you call it, they all lead you to the same place on the world map, i.e., the longest living city. Vedic Culture, Ethnic Tribes, Mahabharata, Buddha, Mughals, British, World Wars, riots, Banaras has seen it all, as the archaeological evidences advocate traces of civilization back in 2000 BC. None of this could steal the essence of this city and Banaras is still raw and pure at heart.
We are so happy to boast that we’ve been nominated for the Bloggers Recognition Award and would like to thank Traveler’s Whispers for nominating us! If you haven’t checked their blog already, please do stop by. They provide customised services, share great stories, and also have an online shop.
This is our first nomination and we are more than excited 🙂
‘Puri’ is considered to be the ultimate holiday destination in our part of the world (read West Bengal) and almost everybody we know has been there more than twice at least. Easy accessibility, inexpensiveness, religious values and everlasting beaches have made this place a comfort getaway for all age groups. And we, the self-proclaimed travelers had not been there even once and we have been mocked at and looked down upon for that. Yes, really! So, we vowed to visit Puri and eradicate this embarrassment forever.

‘The greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.’
We had been on a lot of single day road trips but did not ever experience the wilderness of being on the roads for a few days at a stretch. August 2016, it was, and we planned a 12-day long road trip through none other than the royal state of Rajasthan. Why Rajasthan? Because no one is unaware of the rich heritage this state boasts of. It is one state that offers you numerous places to see, varied experiences and adventures and is probably the most vibrant region of India.
Dining at a 5 star almost makes you feel like a royal and JW Kitchen is no exception. The experience starts from the entry gate itself when the entire staff treats you like a celebrity.

‘Mishti’…Doesn’t this word sound magical to your ears? Trust us, it tastes even more heavenly and can tempt your soul. The favourite word of all Bengalis is ‘Mishti’ and its their favourite type of food too. No offence 🙂

John Muir rightly said, “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” So to give clarity to our creative blocks we decided to pay a visit to the mighty Kaziranga National Park. Why Kaziranga? Because it is nearer, budget friendly and takes lesser time to reach from our side of the world.

Confucius enjoys a great location being situated in the central area of G.S.Road in Guwahati which offers it a lot of casual passerby guests apart from the regulars.
Byepass Dhaba is centrally located on EM Byepass near Science City in Kolkata. The place has huge parking space, great lighting and average decor. The restaurant is spacious and does not seem like people are bumping into each other or staring at other’s food. Staff is courteous and portions served is ok.
