While we love everything about Mumbai, the city life here can get exhausting at times, leaving the residents craving for relaxation. It is a common sight to see people leaving on Friday evenings and coming back on Sunday nights, all rejuvenated and ready for the busy week ahead.

Dwarka Somnath Darshan!
Two months of the new year gone already. Time just flies. Phew!
Looking back, 2018 has been a complete roller coaster ride for us as we shifted our home 1275 miles west from home. Kolkata to Mumbai. Settling in the new city kept us on our toes and travel took a back seat for some time. So while we were in Ahmedabad in December for a family wedding, we took a small road trip to Devsthan Dwarka, Somnath and nearby places.

Mallabhum : Inspired Art!
Hey, hope you guys are doing great.
We will keep this one short. Just thought of sharing the free hand pen and ink sketches Aniket did under the artistic influence of Mallabhum (Bishnupur).
Mallabhum Katha – 10 reasons to explore Bishnupur
We did not go to Bankura or Bishnupur, we went in the search of Mallabhum, to live the history of the Malla Kings and to learn the stories of their flourish and ruins. How Lord Madan Mohan still resides in wrecked temples, how Radha and Krishna still play Rasleela in the dark maze of Rasmanch and how one could still hear the cries of Lalbai at the Lalbandh. Bishnupur now might be living in the ruins but the stories behind are spellbinding.

The metallic world of Bikna – Dokra Art
Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable ~ said someone. And so true it is.
If you have been a part of our travel journey till now, you would know that we are mad about art and we tend to find art in all our destinations. One such destination is the Bikna village in the Bankura district of West Bengal.

An evening at Indian Coffee House, Calcutta!
No air conditioners, no lavish interiors and no ornamented delicious looking coffee glasses. Welcome to one of the oldest and classic coffee place in the city of joy. This place is nothing like the Cafe Coffee Days, or Baristas or Starbucks, it is just a modest place, which has been able to survive from the pre-independent period till date.

Mercedes-Benz Museum. Stuttgart
‘Mercedes’ somehow reminds me of childhood. Not because I owned it or something but it was probably the only luxury car brand known to me then. I donât own it now either but now I am aware of other brands as well! While filling up slam books for my friends in school my patent answer to âYou wish to ownâ question was a âMercedes-Benz Carâ. Not much has changed though, I still wish to own one. But then, or till the time I visited this one in 2013, I never knew that Mercedes-Benz has itâs own goddamn museum. Or for the matter of fact, almost all luxury brands have.

Varanasi – City of Gods
Banaras, Kashi, Varanasi whatever you call it, they all lead you to the same place on the world map, i.e., the longest living city. Vedic Culture, Ethnic Tribes, Mahabharata, Buddha, Mughals, British, World Wars, riots, Banaras has seen it all, as the archaeological evidences advocate traces of civilization back in 2000 BC. None of this could steal the essence of this city and Banaras is still raw and pure at heart.

Festival Fiesta – Durga Puja
Readers might feel that we are obsessed with Durga Puja. The fact is we live in Kolkata and we actually are obsessed with Durga Puja! The festival is just a few weeks away and we can see the madness in the city. Idols are undergoing the final finishing, pandals are in process, entire city is shopping and traffic problems have almost doubled but we love it this way. It is that time of the year which everybody waits for. Well, almost everybody. Food, fun, fashion, family, friends, the level of excitement knows no boundaries.

An Evening at Eiffel!
Paris could easily be entitled as one of the most famous cities of the world. And it is not in the list of âThe Worldâs Top 10 Most Visited Citiesâ for no reason. The ones who have visited are still in awe and it tops the bucket list of those who havenât.

Travel Tales of Jagannath – Rathayatra
We assume travelbug has bitten almost everybody who can even remotely afford it. And God’s are no far behind (affordance being of least consideration). It’s summer vacations in most parts of the country and it’s that time of the year when people holiday with families. So does Lord Jagannath as today he is leaving on his 7 day trip to his auntâs place (mausi ka ghar) with his beloved brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra.

Dream Weavers of Fulia
I could feel nostalgia. I had been here earlier. I could relate to each and every bit of the process, and while I was busy missing college and my textile design days, my better half was busy clicking pictures and listening to all the stories from the locals.

ï»ż10 things to do in the Land of Jagannath – Puri
âPuriâ is considered to be the ultimate holiday destination in our part of the world (read West Bengal) and almost everybody we know has been there more than twice at least. Easy accessibility, inexpensiveness, religious values and everlasting beaches have made this place a comfort getaway for all age groups. And we, the self-proclaimed travelers had not been there even once and we have been mocked at and looked down upon for that. Yes, really! So, we vowed to visit Puri and eradicate this embarrassment forever.

Khamma Ghani Rajasthan!
‘The greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.’
We had been on a lot of single day road trips but did not ever experience the wilderness of being on the roads for a few days at a stretch. August 2016, it was, and we planned a 12-day long road trip through none other than the royal state of Rajasthan. Why Rajasthan? Because no one is unaware of the rich heritage this state boasts of. It is one state that offers you numerous places to see, varied experiences and adventures and is probably the most vibrant region of India.
JW Kitchen, Kolkata
Dining at a 5 star almost makes you feel like a royal and JW Kitchen is no exception. The experience starts from the entry gate itself when the entire staff treats you like a celebrity.

10 Reasons Why Kaziranga National Park should be on your bucket list
John Muir rightly said, “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” So to give clarity to our creative blocks we decided to pay a visit to the mighty Kaziranga National Park. Why Kaziranga? Because it is nearer, budget friendly and takes lesser time to reach from our side of the world.

Confucius, Guwahati
Confucius enjoys a great location being situated in the central area of G.S.Road in Guwahati which offers it a lot of casual passerby guests apart from the regulars.
Byepass Dhaba, Kolkata
Byepass Dhaba is centrally located on EM Byepass near Science City in Kolkata. The place has huge parking space, great lighting and average decor. The restaurant is spacious and does not seem like people are bumping into each other or staring at other’s food. Staff is courteous and portions served is ok.
Rangotsav in Purulia
Who goes camping during the festivals in India? We Indians have always been renowned for celebrating festivities with families. True, very true. But last year during Holi (March 2016), we decided to give the family affairs a miss and joined a group who was going for a 3 days- 3 nightâs camp to Sirkabad, Purulia to celebrate this colorful festival.

Tinchuley – Home in the Clouds
Tinchuley was a very sudden plan, as we had never even heard of this place before. Both of us were extremely repulsed with our work lives and were craving for a weekend break when a colleague introduced us to this heavenly village in the clouds. Since we were planning very close travel dates, we could only manage Sleeper tickets in a train. But that could not lower our enthusiasm and excitement of being able to check another place on the globe.
